I Can Change We

Mankind made language; however, it is people who communicate it.
No other word has the power of the pronoun, I.
A single letter, a single syllable, and a single word... but with no single meaning.
I is not a singular thing; instead, I is a universe of things.
I is diverse, unique, and personal, like each of us.
I am tall…I am Brazilian…I am American…I am silly…I am autistic…I am an avid writer…
I am so many things...
Mostly though, I is always changing.
The world may need the collective WE, in order to succeed.
But the singular ME matters, because without it, WE cannot change.
I feel ready to start to make change.
I feel the power of others changing around me.
I matter because I can change WE.

When we lived in California, Nola and Mary attended a school with the saying, “Believe there is Good in the world, Be the Good”.
When reading your article, this came to my mind. It reminds me that I can change and be what I want to see in the We/World.
Thank you for sharing your gift of writing. 🙏🏻
